What started as a simple DIY gift quickly blossomed into a full-fledged passion project for Tim and Jolene LeClere, the husband-and-wife duo behind HomeSpun Goodz. It all began when Tim—a software engineer by day—was searching for a relaxing, low-tech hobby. He stumbled upon the idea of making vanilla extract as a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift. The results were so delicious that Jolene, an avid baker, insisted they make more. Friends and family quickly took notice, and just like that, HomeSpun Goodz was born. Each bottle of their premium vanilla extract is a labor of love, taking a minimum of one full year from start to finish! This process is a test of patience but so incredibly worth it. Tim uses Premium Grade A Madagascar vanilla beans and a variety of high-quality alcohols to create their signature blends: Traditional Vodka, White Rum, Bourbon, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, and even a non-alcoholic version. They also offer seasonal infusions, adding a little something special for bakers who love to experiment. Jolene puts every batch to the test in her own kitchen, ensuring that each extract performs beautifully in cookies, cakes, and confections. With each flavor offering a unique depth and character, it's no wonder she can’t choose a favorite.
